A look out point a thousand feet above the park, this is our recommended sunset spot. Keys View is an easy 500 ft loop walk from the parking lot but provides spectacular overlook of the Coachella Valley, the Salton Sea, Mt. San Jacinto, Mt. San Gorgonio, and the San Andreas fault. The steep south-facing canyons below contain representatives of the Sonoran components of JTNP’s flora.
Honestly, I’m not much of a hiker, so bonus points that this gorgeous spot is a quick walk from the parking lot. It feels us with awe every time to look over the vast lands and realize how big the world and JTNP really is.
